Live a little!

I have been craving this bad boy for the past week! I saw a sign on one of the DQ’s here that said Mint Oreo Blizzard, so I immediately texted the hubby “Mint oreo blizzard…. drool… must get one soon…” But then I did the unthinkable, I looked up the nutrition facts for a small mint oreo blizzard:

I was heartbroken when I saw 20g of fat and 580 calories for a small size order! GGGrrrrrrrrr! Why do the things that tastes soo good have to be so bad for you?! I’m going on a date with Scott tonight and he promised me a blizzard for our dessert. So I’m going to live a little but instead of stuffing my face and eating the whole container I’m going to share it with my love. It’ll be romantic and we’ll be both saving ourselves from tummy aches and extremely smelly gas later (sorry TMI!). I get that when I eat a lot of sweets that’s why I only eat it once in awhile. Btw, today’s workout will only be 45 min. of spinning class. I’m really sore from last night’s workout and yoga killed me! I did an advance yoga class and it consisted of a lot of downward dogs, planks, cobras, etc. My upper back, shoulders, arms, and abs are beyond sore. It hurts to sneeze!

Do you let yourself enjoy a really good, delicious treat once in awhile? I hope you do! We all gotta live a little!

    I work at Dairy Queen!

You think it is tempting to see a sign? Try having a discount!

Growing up, my aunt would take my cousins and myself swimming every Friday night. Afterwards, we would go to DQ for blizzards. Can you guess what flavour I always got? I’ll give you a hint: we have similar taste! ;)

I have to confess – there was a mistake Blizzard at the end of the night and I took it home for free. I have a small Oreo Mint Blizzard waiting for me in the freezer! The trick is to make it last. ;)

I hope you enjoyed the Blizzard you got on your date!

you totally should live a little, especially on a date! I always make sure to have a mini-game plan for food..I would rather eat a brownie than a burger,so I’ll get a salad but enjoy some dessert ;)

I usually indulge on special occasions or family get-togethers when we go out to nice restaurants or have yummy cake. But yeah… those Blizzards are ridiculous in nutrition facts. 69g of added sugar? Yikes.

My very first job was at a Dunkin’ Donuts that was attached to a Dairy Queen. You can only imagine the damage that did as a tiny 15 year old girl! I LOVE mint oreo ice cream now, and usually got the chocolate brownie blizzard back in the day haha.

Oh my goodness, mint oreo blizzards are my favorite! I definitely indulge every now and then, but since I’ve started eating healthier I’ve definitely noticed that my stomach can’t handle stuff the way it used to. I think it’s wise to split the blizzard…then you can enjoy the treat but not feel miserable afterward!

My stomach can’t handle fatty, sugary, heavy foods anymore either. My stomach would hate me and I’d be in pain. And then I would tell myself, “never again will I eat …. ” lol.
